Review of National Code commencing February 2010

The review of the Code will be in two parts: firstly a process of getting the Code as fit for purpose as possible will start February 2010, and then a round of consultation once the Utilities Access Amendment Act has been passed.

The Infrastructure Bill passed its first reading 25 August and has been referred to the Transport and Industrial Relations Select Committee. The report back date is 13 Nov. They will call for submissions shortly. You can look at their progress on Parliamentâs website.

Proposed Update to the National Code

Update on the new National Code

Implementation version of the Code released

NZUAG has released the Implementation version of the new National code for Utilities in the Transport Corridors. The Code will implemented across NZ and reviewed before it is finally released and approved by the Minister.
Code Implementation Meetings

NZUAG is conducting a series of meetings in May 2009 nationwide to kick-start the implementation of the Code.
Submissions on the Advance Copy of the Code

Thirteen submissions were received on the Advance Copy of the Code. These have been reviewed by NZUAG and accepted now, declined, or held pending the post-implementation review. NZUAG is grateful to those who took time to submit suggestions for improving the Code.
